Okay, this is your picture posting tutorial. It was inspired by Indi's tutorial, which I could not find. I blocked out the pics because I don't want you pukes stalking this very nice person. I made this for another forum that uses the same program as WDFNews.com. That's why the colors are off, but the steps are the same. And I'm too lazy to do it all over again.
http://www.imageshack.usThe short version shown in the picture below is:
1. You upload a file from your computer or enter a URL where the image lives on the internets.
2. Resize the image if it’s too big. Usually a 300 x 300 to a 640 x 480 file is okay for viewing.
3. Click on “host it” - no need to enter an email address. Leave that blank.
4. Not shown, but copy the bottommost link and use the image button on the forums. Paste.

So, the long version.
1. If you have a file on your computer, just hit browse in the upload section and find and select the picture on your computer, done, go to step 2.
However, if you have an image you want to capture on the internets, like this person's avatar (blocked to protect the innocent), just RIGHT-CLICK on it and go to “Properties” and click on that as shown below. Only certain types of file formats are supported, but the formats you have are probably supported. Other sources for pics are websites or Google images - no comment on the copyright issues.

Find the location on the property box which has a URL address FOR THE IMAGE, NOT THE LINK. There might be two, choose the longer one. If it doesn’t work later in the process, choose the other. See below. Enter that into the URL box shown in the first picture above. You have to select URL instead of file to be able to paste into that window. Remember that there may be hidden text not shown in the property box so drag your mouse to the right to get all of it.

To repeat, paste link in the URL box in the first picture above.
2. Resize if necessary. Pictures from your camera are probably 1000 x 1000 or more, which are way too big for forums. You will make people upset if you post them bigger than 640 x 480 because it will take a heck of a long time to load. 300 x 300 or smaller is fine. If you don’t click on the resize button, it will keep the image the same size.
3. Click on “host it” - you don’t need to enter an email address. If the file format is supported and your URL is the correct one, you should see the following image below.
Copy the bottommost URL, “Direct link to image” and no other, otherwise this won’t work correctly.

4. Now you’re ready to post it on the forums. There’s a button on the button bar that represents a picture, it’s the yellow one shown below. Click on that, then paste the URL you just copied into the box and hit okay. (The box will look different on WDFNews.com).

You should see the following below. You can still add text after or before that. The image will only show upon preview or upon posting. (Well, not exactly true. Some of the animated gifs may not show up, but if you did it right you should see your picture magically appear.)

And the result is:

This one is 179 x 215 to give you an idea of size.
This will allow you to load a picture from your computer onto the forums, or load a picture from the internets, which you can currently do with just the image button, but then you cause the website to lose bandwidth. This way, you use imageshack's free bandwidth.
Someone else can post the video embedding tutorial link, which is unrelated to this tutorial.
Enjoy.

You should be more like Cantrip.
