pretty much. One of the major things that is only on one side of the brain is language. there are tests doctors can do to see what side of the brain you have language on. that is one thing some neuroscientists refer to as left/right hand. but keep in mind that in the opposing side (same place) you have the understanding of language, so technically you still need both sides to perform.
