I was just purusing Hl2stax and it seems play has tapered off some the last couple of days.. Anybody have ideas why? My STEAM is busted but I will return soon to start driving the party boat again.
Anybody have any ideas as to why I would get "failed to connect after 4 retries" no matter what server I go to in either Dm or CTF. This has been going on the last few days so it aint going away on its own. Any help would be appreciated cause it looks like I really need to get back in there and stir the pot some more. No lethargy is allowed here! Once Known as Grumpy... Oh hell lets face it... I have and will always be Grumpy

I've been busy and haven't had an oppotunity to play at all recently. Hopefully this weekend I'll get in a few good hours. I think as the weather starts getting worse we will see some big growth. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.

No doubt. I laid off lately to keep my house clean and stuff. Plus, with school coming up, I wanna try to keep from being addicted and playing all week during school instead of doing the homework or something rofl. I have seriously thought about this but am a little concerned that is going to wipe out all of the hammer / dedicated server stuff that we have been working on.
I will be off for 4 days starting Monday and if I dont have another solution by then I will have to try this I think. Once Known as Grumpy... Oh hell lets face it... I have and will always be Grumpy

The failed after 4 retries happens to me alot i play through a network in my house. Our main computer has a firewall that blocks server activities from time to time, (when its mad at me) So i just go out and add the server ip to the "Allow list" and it lets me in. hopefully that fixeser up  Dats my ride

Ya. If you reinstalled Steam, your firewall program will have to relearn which connections you want to allow. I went in and deleted all the hl2 rules for my firewall but didn't notice one, and that was the one which gave me problems on CSS. I deleted that one and started over and it was fine.
