Ok wifes got a nice Sony 8mega pixel  digital camera ,and she loves taking pictures. She now wants a program to compliment it.  I have heard that Photoshop is the way to go , however that is one expensive program. Is it worth it? Are there any cheaper alternatives? I looking to spend around $400 max.

Help me out guys...

You can get a mack daddy Photoshop program for that.  My advice is to download one of the trials to see if she likes it.  The learning curve can be big on photoshop.  Better to be sure that is what you want.
