Why?

That's an interesting question!

I'm going to answer it while sitting on the toilet. This is where I do most of my critical thinking.

One could take the easy way out and answer that with more time, one would have the opportunity to utilize that time to make more money.

However, since we cannot have more time, the obvious answer is that I'd prefer to have more money.

Personally, I'd prefer to have more money. I do a lot of thinking about what I could do with more money. A lot of my contemplation revolves around the concept that with more money, I could do more things for people. I dedicate a lot of funds to providing this place for all of you. It brings me happiness.

I could also hold bigger and more elaborate events with more money and possibly pay for people's airfare to attend said events. Next years Penguinlan would obviously be quite an event with more money.

With more money I could repay my debts. I wouldn't have to live paycheck to paycheck. I wouldn't have to be the light police in my house, switching off lights for forgetful roommates.

I think there's a chance that I could be happier with more money.

However, money has allowed me to buy "things."

I have a lot of things. I have some of the coolest toys I can think of. My living room is one of the coolest hangout places I can imagine. Yet, at the same time that I have lots of things, bought with lots of money, I am more miserable now than I've ever been.

Money can't buy someone's heart. Only time and dedication can. Money can't buy happiness. I've tried for years to prove to those around me that this isn't true, but I have failed. Money has made my life difficult.

The aforementioned toys that I have require a lot of power to run. The hottub alone costs about 80/month turned down to vacation temperatures. I can't afford to run it constantly. My computers, screens, arcade machines, and pinball machines constantly need power to run. My computer has a 1500w power supply. I have to turn it off when I'm not using it.

So, regardless of how much money I could have, I'd most likely find a way to spend said money on things that would leave me with less money in the long run.

I'd prefer time. Time heals all wounds. I wish I had more time to fix the problems I've created for myself. I wish I had more time to focus on what haunts me and find solutions that benefit me. I wish I had more time to make up for the things I've done.

Alternate: I wish I had the ability to travel back in time. Just once. A one time deal. I wish I could travel to a year ago. I wish I could have been a better person.

So, in a magical world, I'd prefer time over money.

In this world, I'd prefer money over time.

In my bathroom right now, I'd prefer pie over time and money, as I've recently made room for some pie. After I wash my hands, of course.
