I have an AMD Athlon 64 x2 5000+ Black Edition, AM2 slot, and haven't been able to OC it since I've had it due to my BIOS having no options to do so. Anybody know any way I can try and up this thing some? I haven't been able to find a program or guide that helps me, since my BIOS won't let me.

Overclocking is a delicate process, especially when it comes to your cpu. One wrong move and you can potentially fry your chip. That being said if your bios generally doesn't have the options for it, it's best left alone. Triyng to overclock with a shit mobo generally isn't recommended. That being send check for BIOS updates for your mobo. It's pretty rare to have a mobo with no OC'ing capabilties. I'm the leetest one here

I won't say that there's no way to do it without the ability to do it in the BIOS, but the BIOS is by far the safest way, since it often has the ability to hit an automatic kill switch if you push things too far. I'd recommend the HardOCP forums as a place to get perhaps more knowledgeable advice than you'll find here, but for my money, if you can't do it in the BIOS I'd say steer clear. Thanks for that site, found a thread with a guy with same CPU asking same thing almost. I'd love to OC this thing because, you know, it was made to be OC'ed. Not doing it kind of feels like a waste.
