On my 1 day old windows 64 install several menus in steam are unreadable and games appear to not launch. All tabs in the main window are fine, so is the stand alone friends list. The server browser appears to be fine also. Chat windows, server details and the preparing to launch window all are unreadable. All attached image for example and OS details. Currently running the 180.84 nvidia driver on my 8800GT 512. Already tried reinstalling once, didn't improve the issue. When launching a game such as TF2 what I assume to be the preparing to launch window appears and then no matter how long I leave it, it never changes and the game doesn't load. Any help is appreciated.

Did you Upgrade your OS to 64 bit Windows or did you do a reformat and fresh install? When I moved to 64 bit, redownloaded steam and I think (not a 100 percent sure because i wasnt watching too closely...) but I believe that the steam installer detects 64 bit OS and installes a 64 bit version of steam. Try uninstalling steam and downloading the 64 bit version. (if you havent already....it sounded like you tried the video driver reinstall) Quote:

Formatted and installed on a brand new RAID array. I'll hunt around for a 64 bit version of steam.

Do you have the latest video drivers installed? The latest DirectX? How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
