And it's not ironic - it's coincidental. However, I can't say as though I'm surprised by the content in the story. I'm curious as to the age of the boy and if there will be any repercussions for him with regard to his actions. The repercussions should be that his Father gives him a good ole fashion ass-kickin'. I can't imagine the physical punishment I would have endured if I had ever punched my mother. @ Giller [GwDR] : I agree. What's the point in calling the deputies if no one is going to smack some sense into the kid? Punching your own mom is as low as a person can get, imo. I mean seriously, that's kind of like commiting murder, then holding a sign over your head saying "I did it, noobs. lulz" while everyone else tries to "fix" the problem without fixing it, albeit comforting you with milk and cookies before letting you do more of the same junk tomorrow without any kind of punishment.
Is the matter ironic since he was playing Halo? Umm...I want to say yes, but then again, just go online for any game these days and you'll find at least one spam-the-mic, 12 year old johnny, staying up past their bedtime doing stupid stuff to their families on the side (sheer coincidence). =P

That or it could have been the wireless adapter for the xbox. If he was playing online it would be really easy to rip that thing off with one hand and cut off his connection so he couldn't keep playing online.
