Ok while im upgrading my computer i might as well go all out. Right now im using a 19"lcd samsung monitor that im barrowing from a friend. im looking for a new monitor now, im looking for a 22inch or bigger becausse i already have a 21" inch crt that looks really nice with everything maxed way better than the 19. i want something with a good rez on it and no ghosting or being fuzzy. I need something that has a good contrast no 600 to 1 or anything like that, something with 1000 to 1 or whatever is good. that way i understand it the higher the numbers the better the monitor, and 5ms refresh rate is good all the way up to 2ms is the best? could be wrong if someone could tell me what is good for lcd and suggest some good monitors to look at it would be help full

Just me personally, but all those specs are calculated differently from manufacturer to manufacturer....so they can basically come to a number any way they damn please....i never trusted them.

when buying a montior I always :

1.  Always go see the montior in action with your own eyes before you buy...go find a comp store or big box that has one.  Ask a guy to hook it up to a machine that is running something besides a slide show of some stupid fish.  Most of the time you can find a guy there who is cool and will hook it up the machine where they have hidden a copy of World of Warcraft on.  Trust me...there is a copy of WoW hidden on a computer in every big box store and you have to just convince them to let you see it.  I have done this before.

2. Read reviews from people who have actually bought the thing.
