It was science fiction and I think it was by Ray Bradbury

It's about this pilot who's delivering medicine to a mars mining colony, and he's only given an exact amount of fuel for the trip. about half way through his trip he finds a teenage girl who stowed herself away on his ship in hopes of seeing her brother who was in the same mining colony, unaware that her extra weight on the ship will cause them to crash land
