This is somewhat in response to the sega thread business posted.

I've been thinking of building up a collection of abandonware. Can anyone think of any good old DOS games or something similar? I'm 19 so the stuff I grew up on isnt old old, I still got to play classics like Warcraft, civ2, and liero.

I never played any of those text-based adventure games I see in movies, anyone know any of those? :D

Fuck yeah! Zork!

Pokemon Red & Blue. None of that 400+ shit. There's 150 of the fuckers and anyone saying otherwise is lying.

Rise of the Triad
Xargon
Grover's Adventures in Space (?)
Chip's Challenge
SkiFree

I think the old C&C games are still live on their site.

Pokemon Red + Blue had 150 pokemon, plus mew (151), plus Missingo (152), plus Yoshi (153). This has absolutely nothing to do with this thread.

Blood was one of the best games i have ever played me and my brother loved it with duke nukem. Chips challenge was another good one also. death rally was good it was a racing game and you could race as duke nukem, there was a cool flying game called hellbender i think it was only had the demo for it tho. Have to add in the old gta at my school everyone would d/l the game onto the computers and play it fun times.

would love to get my hands on a real copy of it and blood so if any ones know where i can get copys of these great games plz let me know.

After seeing some of these suggestions, perhaps my Zork recommendation was a bit too old school. If you are really looking for text based adventures, then it might be more palettable to start with something like Shadowgate. (or the less popular Deja Vu).

I played zork for a little while. I've played other text-based games, as well as DnD, so it's not a hard transition for me.
