Warning to BOA users if you get a similar email just forward it to abuse@bankofamerica.com. These things are so well constructed now adays that I sweat just thinking about the trouble my parents could get into not catching the subtle details that give away the fraud (which i boxed in yellow using my awesome ms paint skills).

I've seen the same thing for banks including mine. Also seen a fake BBC website with a fake news article on it.

Let your parents know that the banks will never ask for your account details in an email.

Also tell them to look at the sender's email address. It got cut off in the first SS, but Bank of america would send emails from @bankofamerica.com, not @yahoo.com. If they do send emails.. I can't remember ever getting an email from them.

I get the Bank of America one about once a week. Rule of thumb: never respond to anything that you did not initiate yourself. I don't even open emails from any financial institution because they are mostly phishing attempts and if my bank really wants to get ahold of me they can (and do)
it by snail mail.
