Damn, that's a lot of weight to carry at age 14. Or at any age, really.

Yeah. Thats horrible.

I always wonder...how to people let it get to that point? 14 years old and 200lbs...300lbs....400lbs...I mean, do you not NOTICE? What the heck is going on in their head?

"Don't bother me, kid, I'm watching my shows." -- probable reply no.1

"Don't worry, hunny. Your not fat -- your just big boned. Don't let your weight get to you." -- probable reply no.2

"But the doctor said you were healthy." probable reply no.3

"You'll grow into your weight one day." probable reply no.4

I don't care which one you find more interesting (or bizarre), each excuse is as reckless as the last. =P

They're excuses. The discussion should stop right there, you know?

People are fat lazy fucks by nature and modern technology (in the way we run our lives AND make our 'food') hasn't helped this in any way, shape, or form whatsoever.

On top of that, the traditional 'nuclear' family that would previously had kept a balanced family model encouraging extroversion and thus activity, and peer groups supportive of healthy lifestyles has fallen on its frail neck, with internet gaming marathons replacing sports and emotionless text replacing face to face contact.

The end result is what you see all around you; an en masse destruction of the human body, until recently taboo to criticize, only now readily coming in to focus of the public eye.

Well put. In the "Age of Information", we all have to keep up with our Facebook profiles and Twitter thingymabobs. Who has time for anything other than fast food and sitting in front of the computer?

Obviously, being in a clan which emphasizes playing video games (in vast quantities) makes anything I say kind of hypocritical. :P

However, I really do hate how the internet has reduced people to text. Reading sentences creates ambiguity, especially for me. I rely heavily on body language and inflection to understand what people really mean when they're talking to me.

Vlah, anyway. Get outside! I'm off to mow the lawn...right after I check some other threads. ;D
