I've noticed animation speeds differ greatly when viewed on different browsers. I mean I noticed this a long time ago but only just posted now.. Back when I "made" (exported from .vtf) my avatar I got it to just the right speed I wanted it to be when looking at firefox. Then firefox stopped working smoothly for me and I switched to chrome, but now it moves slowly, boo hoo :( This is a stupid question rooted in vanity rather than desire of PC performance. How do I make my avatar faster? Is there a way to circumvent this change in speed? Or can I only set an option on my own browser? How fast does my avatar appear to you guys?

With GIF animations, you should be able to set how quickly the image moves from one frame to the next if you have any sort of imaging program more advanced than MS Paint. I used the GIMP because it's free. Here's your avatar sped up 50% (in Firefox only)! I had never noticed this before, but you're right. Chrome does make GIFs appear slower than Firefox. It looks like Chrome (and probably IE) cap the speed at which GIFs can progress to something in the realm 60 ms between frames. To me, it looks like your avatar is around 50 ms between frames (using Firefox).

I just used some freeware I googled.. don't have it anymore. Don't think you can use MSPaint to make animations.. But yeah I tweaked the speed many times until I got what I wanted. Too bad google and m$ decided to cap the speed.. can't imagine why they'd do that.. oh well

oh well Well its more apple and microsoft, the inards of Chrome are based on the same software at the core of Safari. When i use chrome, this forum says I'm using Safari, personally I blame Sirusdv for having a bad UA string database. HEY SIRUSDV: THIS IS CHROME, NOT SAFARI! Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/525.13 (KHTML, like Gecko) chrome/0.2.149.27 Safari/525.13
