Yes, they gave it to me. I was there to work on some stuff, it was kind of surreal. Funniest thing:
I'm sitting all alone in their special "investigations" room working on a computer and feel like I'm being watched or something, I turn around to face the door and this new guy is walking by and gives me the classic angry cop look. About a minute later the chief comes rushing in, says hello while looking embarrassed and flustered, and then quickly exits. I'm guessing new guy told him someone broke in to hack their gibson and he freaked, then realized it was me and that his grand entrance was very silly.

I get this all the time, though never at a police station. I did IT until recently (<RANT>Because I got laid off this week, the company hasn't been profitable for 3 months, probably because the boss said he was going to work on a "project", the project being freecell all day</RANT>) and at least once a week we'd freak someone out. Usually it was when I was using VNC to work on a computer remotely, and someone would walk by and see things happening on the screen and would pull the plug and call us, yelling "hackers! HACKERS!" Once, a manager shut off power to the entire building because, "Our network has viruses, I saw the hackers!" Other times I would be in a company's server {Room|Closet|Hole in the wall} and some usually new person would freak out. Once I was redoing some wiring and moving equipment around, and this new secretary walked into the Break/Server room and accused me of being a theif. She yelled for her boss and threatened to pepper spray me if I didn't get on the ground.

Fun time.
