Patent for software tech that would force you to watch advertisements through forced interaction and quizzingAm I interpreting this wrong? In an hour of Darkness a blind man is the best guide. In an age of Insanity look to the madman to lead the way.

I hope this actually happens. Then the WINDOWS USERS can gloat about their ad-free computers. :P Doubtless there will be some sort of workaround 15 minutes after its implemented though. If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe. - Carl Sagan My Backpack

I wouldn't really be worried... a lot of companies patent ideas that aren't used in mainstream products. {pDs} Lead Salad: bike why did you change your name Jessica343: so I can get heals {pDs} Lead Salad: oh damn good idea {pDs} Lead Salad has changed their name to {pDs} Lead Salad (is a girl) Jessica343: hahah

This is kinda old news. Basically is going to go like this: The itouch costs $199 which is more than I am willing to pay as it would be someone what redundant among my Desktop, netbook, and Blackberry. But lets say that was $25 and I had to watch a few adds everyday, then I might be willing to get it. If the adds are too annoying, then I might be willing to pay $20/month to go without adds. Well then if you do that math, in a year: 12*$20+$25= $265 per person in income they wouldn't have otherwise had. It makes sense. They can probably apply the same idea to macs to attract people who are otherwise unwilling to buy macs due to their price. Also, don't think that there will be adds on every device. That would be a stupid idea. This is just going to mean that there are regular iPods and discount iPods.

So FrostBite wouldn't stfu about this the other day so let me add my 2 pennies here - This isn't going to be implemented. At all. Ever. Apple patents shit left and right and center just cuz they can and hardly anything ever goes to market. Hell, they may be patenting this just to block anyone from ever doing it. silverwasp wrote:Be careful what you wish for... I have 10 younger siblings and I am only 20....
