Hooray for the freedom of being forced to think a certain way. If we had a litmus test on these forums, my pH would be around 8-9. Bragr, you seem to be like a 2. I'm all for being conservative, but we can't do stuff like this. Why can't education, ESPECIALLY in grade/middle school, be ideologically neutral? We should arm our children with the ability to think, then let them choose for themselves, not brainwash them in the schools. Brainwashing should be kept in the home. If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe. - Carl Sagan My Backpack

It's absurd to teach history in an idealogically nuetral tone. One, it makes it dry as all holy heck and noone would read it, and two, well, it just doesn't work. Especially in the social arena. All history will be influenced by the victors, or even more so by the losers (Roman forces noted defeating an army of Gauls that numbered somewhere beyond the actual number of Gauls alive at the time...)
That said, this stuff IS the sort of absurd conservative crap that makes the repubs such a pathetic party that I'd be ashamed to be associated with. Discarding Jefferson and his influence on the development of the US? In favor of Aquinas? Ironically they seem to have forgotten Aquinas was actually tried for heresy three times, and convicted his third time (somehow the excellent defences he put up during the first two trials were inefective at his third. That he was dead prior to the third trial could have been part of the challenge.)
Anyone who wants to challenge Jeffersons influence in the creation of this country, and MANY of the principles on which it was founded, needs to have a handful of those stupid little american flag lapel pins shoved up their backdoor and sent on a jog around DC mall a few times.

I'm not sure what you are implying, but that could have something to do with only getting 8 hours of sleep in the last 48 hours.
