When UCR told me I could take classes for $300 a class during the summer, I jumpjed at the opportunity because with budget cuts, I'm having trouble getting all the classes I need. Turns out with hidden fees and fine print, its more like $1000 a class. And I didn't find out till the fees popped up on my balance. And they are only gave me 24 hours to pay. I just found out, and I have 10 hours left. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

UCSD (where I go) is only funded by about 10% public funding. Yet folks still get up in arms about the prices...I aint disagreeing with you, fine print tactics suck, but I'm alright paying out of my ass for the education a UC offers compared to a state school like SDSU.

Around here we have a local news group that goes around and challenges places about rip-off schemes they employ. If fine print is really changing your cost from $300 to $1000.. I'd see if I have a group like that local. Whether you agree to the fine print or not, that's a shady practice that doesn't blow over too well in the public eye. Them only giving you 24 hours is icing on the bullshit cake.

Well most people got more than 24 hours, but since I was waitlisted, and didn't get officially enrolled in the class till after fees were due.
