It seems that there is some sort of drama going on around here.

Personally, if I start playing in a server in any other game but minecraft, and I don't like the players and/or server settings, I leave and find one more to my liking. I wonder why Porgon and Frostbite are such gluttons for punishment if they keep playing somewhere they don't enjoy.

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure what this is even about anymore. Power struggle?

Dont confuse me with porgon i never said i didn't like playing here or anything even close

The only arguments i make are when rik was changing things with out the other players votes and correcting what he keeps saying he/i/porgon said out of context or correctly

The Vote for the reset was made to keep the drama down and us off each others back
it doesn't change the fact that most people think Jews are much like the Ferengi of Star Trek. More interested in acquiring "profits" than anything else. -Erkdog

Shut the fuck up Frostbite, I know what i am doing i been playing TF2 for 8 fucking years i know how to run my damn servers-Erkdog

I say we let him back on the forums.

I really don't know where you get this sense of entitlement. Just because a server is dedicated for the use of WDFNews.com doesn't mean everything about it is open to majority opinion. We've also never had a game like Minecraft before, in which behaviors can have accumulative affects over a long period of time. Voting to reset the server, for example, is a much--MUCH--larger deal than whether or not you have post-round melee mode, HLStats, or UT sound effects.

It's even a bigger deal than what maps are in rotation--and coincidentally it's the maps of Tempest that lead me to find another server, and I've never seen a poll on that. And voting for the Tempest is also more important since it's being paid for by clan donations.

So yeah, a lot of things for this Minecraft server will be open to voting and community decision, but not everything. Some things need to be the way they are to ensure the long-term viability of the server. If you don't agree with that sentiment, there are other Minecraft servers out there.

To reiterate what I've said before, when I'm able to support it I'll host multiple Minecraft servers. Multiple servers means that others need to be less about serving "everyone" and more about serving those with more specific interests. The one we have now will still be about longevity, but the others don't need to be. That gives us more flexibility.

A friend of mine started a server that I've been playing on. There's now 5 players on that server, and everybody just kind of gets along. There are no territory quarrels (building somewhere is essentially a landgrab), and nobody messes with other people's stuff. Everybody is friends, so nobody really minds when stuff gets close together.

I'm sitting here reading all the crap you guys sling at each other about this and can't help but wonder where you guys messed up.

And make no mistake, something has most definitely messed up. With you guys.

Well, most of us get along just fine. We've all made stuff by spawn and there's been weariness about proximity, but it's usually just shrugged off. Even Quart's moved on and he's lost the most from the drama. If someone blew up my base like Porgon did his, I'm not sure I'd have stuck around.

There's always the occasional bad apple. The problem with bad apples in a game like Minecraft is that (currently) block changes aren't logged. So if there's some sort of land dispute that needs moderated (like Quart/Porgon's), there's no hard data to work from--just two people with two different stories.

Anyway, today was nice. Super, Quart, and McCheese were all on for a while. Just good conversation while building neat stuff.

Maybe as far as territory goes, maybe we should generate some sort of overhead map (I don't even know if that's possible). That way we can chart out plots of land and determine who wants what. If somebody runs out of room they can just pick some more plots (in an organized fashion of course).

It's actually really nice to see I can walk away and be sick for a few days, and people will continue this drama in my absence.
