With the introduction of powered rails, I've begun to build out a track system on my skybridge, starting with the most gruelingly long span between the tower-hub (second nearest spawn) out towards Penthan Outpost and my Lighthouse tunnel. That means I need to lay track for a length of almost 1100 blocks. I'm okay on normal tracks for now (though iron donations are welcome, just in case) but I'll definitely need gold to build the powered segments that I intend to lay every 3rd or 4th track, to keep good speed. So. Got spare gold? I'll trade you something for it. Or something. Or if enough people think this has good benefits for the server in general, I'll consider using my adminy powers to give myself enough gold. The first test segment is down right now... maybe 100-150 blocks long... if ya'll want to take gander. Oh and... HAHAHAHAHA NO NEED FOR FUGLY BOOSTERS!

Thanks to a kindly donation of gold, the Gladymir Skyway is fully railed. For now carts stop at all towers of note and pass by those with nothing major nearby. To get off at those or the utility towers, you'll need to time it right and destroy your cart. I'm almost done with a track from the skyway to my lighthouse as well, and it'll be a pretty nice scenic view along the way! Now I just need to gather up a bit of iron to finish that. :X

I'm having a bit of problems with animals on the tracks in a couple places, so travel with care until I figure out how to better avoid that. I think they're just falling onto them right now... they shouldn't spawn on them. And I haven't seen monsters spawn on the tracks yet, but no promises there.... Edit: Did some research and the tracks should be monster free, save for them falling on them like animals can right now (until I fix it). They don't spawn on half-blocks or translucent blocks (ie, rails) so there should be enough precautions in place to keep them away.

ahhhh_crap wrote:you guys scare me Psha. You ain't seen noth'n yet. Now I'm building my empire in World2. Already got most of my fortress built, sporting much of what I learned with my lighthouse and skyway. Make no mistake, it won't replace my lighthouse. That thing will always hold a special place in my heart. But this is definitely bigger. Here's a sneak peak... (i really wish I had done before & after screenshots...)
