This was not an issue before the latest update. However now when I am in the program, all the sudden it reboots the system. No warning no lagging, no locking up, just restarting. Now about the time of the update I installed a new vid card as well. NVIDIA 7600 GS. The insides were cleaned and still are in good shape. I even drilled some holes in the side to get more airflow, just in case it is overheating. Could this be a setting problem with the new card? I had a ATI before and never had problems (until it fried) Or could the rest of my POS just noty be keeping up and overheating?

I have a : HP Pavilion 500n, AMD 2800+,2.1 , 512ram, 80gbhd.

What do you esperts think?

Well, I'm no expert, but I've used Hammer alot trying to get used to it, and form a non-sucky DM map. I've heard alot of stuff online though, about how this update has caused alot of crashing, where it didn't crash before. I've yet to use it in quite some time, but I'm trying today to configure it for Obsidian Conflict (the new coop mod) and CTF (cause I'd like to try lol).

Anyone that can actually help, since I'm obviously none?

First try running driver cleaner pro to get rid of all ATI drivers that might be screwing with the Nvidia ones. Clean the Nvidia drivers also and reinstall them just in case.

If that doesn't work, most likely its the 7600GS drawing too much power from your poopy HP power supply and youll probably have to buy a new PSU.

Have you checked for a bios upgrade? That was my problem going from 2 6600gt's to a single 7950gtx. Scared the hell out of me when all I heard was beep beep beep.... I also put in a new psu. Antec true power 2.0. 480w,  killer amperage!
It wont run 2 of these, but then again, I spent all my money!

I vote for a hardware issue. Reboots like you describe are almost always hardware related. The big OEMs are notorious for putting in really craptastic PSU's so that would be my first suspect.

update: yeah it would help if I read the entire thread in detail before posting - it seems you have a shit PSU that you need to replace. Get at least 400w, Antec makes 'em nice.
