Hey guys,

Tonight we really had some awesome matches going along, along with a nice crowd filling up the server as soon as we hit pedestal. Snooch's port of hottopic seems to be attracting crowds as well. Remember hottopic is a FOOTBALL map not a dom map guys :) Anyways, love the good crowds and keep it up guys! Why are you reading this right now? Why aren't you in the tomb? Gooooooo

I am very happy to hear this. I have been wondering how the final version was working out since I have NOT been able to enter the server since I pushed it to the tomb a few nights back. The ctf version that appears on the vote list is Snooches final version of the map we all test sometime ago. This is the one with spawn protection and better navigation from what I hear. The map is a larger one as well so I really do see that going into a regular rotation.

Time for a check check on how the mapcycle is doing. Which maps are causing people to moan and groan and just outright bail on us? Looking for the really stinky ones that I can toss in the dumpster and replace with some better stuff. Sounds to me from what I read here and there that the small fast get in your face action maps are still ruling the roost around here. Over my weekend coming up I am going to start developing ways to give people more of an ability to choose the kind of maps they want to play. A few people on the server should  be able to have small fast action maps to choose from. Larger numbers of people need to be able to switch between larger grander scale maps that dont lag like a dog with many people on the server. Nothing dulls down an action map more that felling like your running around in lag encrusted metal boots.

I know theres a 50/50 split on Stone Fort.

Dirtwork is giving people a headache too. Some people like it, some don't.

Pedestal draws a crowd still, as does 2fort. Some people like Kiruna, but it's so laggy and big, that most tend to avoid it.

That's about all I've seen.

Oh, and add hot_topic to the map cycle. It was fun last night although the entire other team decided to camp and lay down nades and airbursts with rockets and whore the flag like it was dom.

I'm glad you guys all liked the map. I think once people get used to it, it will be less staying in the spawn and more trying to cap. To cap on that map you really need to stay as a team and  that is sometimes hard to do with a bunch of random public players.

So after some great playtesting last night, I will release one more version of the map to address an abundance of smg nade/airburst whoring and also to make sure Peace can't camp in the rebel base with the mag along with tweaking some other stuff.

Side note: I would like to know if down the road the settings of the tomb will change, in the area of how long  it takes ammo to spawn. Right now version b2a is set up for a server where ammo isn't on insta-spawn. the next release I am going to trim all the explosives to make it better for the current Tomb's settings. Just something to think about.

To be honest, I think the teleports need to be obvious.  There is only one magnum, and that's after you find the teleport (which I would have never found if you hadn't showed it to me).  No one is going to meander within their base long enough to actually find it on their own.  Also, It's not good that the combine cannot take the flag into their base and use the teleport when the rebels can teleport with the flag.

Great map though, everyone is really warming up to it.

Actually Mr. Peas rebels cant telly with the flag and there are 3 mags, but nevermind that, its all fixed now and b2b is on its way to Grumps. Hopefully more people will warm up to it.

I didn't know there were any mags on that map until someone blew my head off with one on Sunday. No clue where the hell they are. That said, the map is a lot better now - I think it's just that it's a little difficult to figure out where you are supposed to go at first. I hated it the first time I played it, but it's grown on me a lot. The arrows pointing the way are very helpful. There was still the problem of people not knowing what to do - which means of course lots of camping and/or running the flag in the wrong direction.
