As some of you know, I've been modifying ctf_pedestal for baseball mini-game some of us thought up of. I did everything I planned to do except one thing, which really got me. I need an entity that will trigger "home run" text. I'm using trigger_multiple (as snooch advised) but it just doesn't want to work. It works when flag "everything" is checked but not when "physics objects" is. I'm trying to make it so when an object enters a certain vicinity it will trigger the text. From my understanding, it doesn't understand what object enters it or the object isn't "physics object" like flag states.

I'm using custom baseballs that Snooch designed, so it is not a prop or anything. So I'm wondering, is there any keyvalue I can set so trigger_multiple will actually accept the baseball as a "physics object"? I've looked into QC file commands but I can't find anything useful sadly. This is the last thing I'm trying to add to the map and it is giving me the most trouble. I'm a newb at mapping and barely know hammer sadly, so that doesn't help either lol.

Anyhow, that's the only question I have, how do I make a custom "baseball" be accepted and/or recognized by trigger_multiple as "Physics Object"?

Thanks in advance.

if you have a trigger multiple, make sure in the properties that it isn't set to start disabled.  this sounds stupid, but i have made that error too many times to count.  also, as long as you have "physics objects" or "clients" checked in the flags tab, it should work with pretty much everything.  also check your i/o with the game_text to see that something isn't done wrong there.  if you still have issues, snooch might want to post about his custom baseball so that we might have a better idea whats going on and why its not working.

custom baseball is a func_physbox named baseball. This may require the use of a filter_entity_name or something. I will check it out.
You wanna take this to Fuck Town?
Oh gadzooks, yes!

Well I just tried checking the "Clients" checkbox, when I walk through the trigger it works, but when I through objects through it, it doesn't. So basically the trigger doesn't recognize the object as "physics object".

I also used rollermine as props_physics_override and that also did not trigger the trigger_multiple.

I have added several keyvalues to your ball and grouped it. So it'll be best if you wanna check it through, you may want to check it on the vmf of the map itself (ctf_pedestal_bballb6.vmg, contact me by xfire for it). Besides, this is the last thing I need to do, get this homerun text working after that I'm basically done.

EDIT2:
Just tried testing if regular physics objects worked, such as barrel. I set it to props_physics, and set trigger_multiple to flags: "Pushables", "Physics Objects", and "Physics Debris" from which it still didn't work. So now I'm even more lost, since even a regular physics object didn't work on this trigger_multiple (yes, client works but thats only if you walk into the trigger, which isn't what I want).

I even tried with flag "Everything" and it still didn't work... I don't know what else to do now, lol. With everything, walking into trigger activated it but no objects were able to activate it...

Thanks for the help guys.
