ok, I finally installed Hammer, I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing. Any hints for very beginners including what the fucking buttons do? lol, I was reading the link that WDF? put out explaining it, but I still don't know what to do lol. I'm using it for DoD:S Cantrip wrote:When I die, I want to be reincarnated as a woman's jogging bra.

first thing ya need to know is that your whole map will need to be put in a box, or rather 'boxed in' (the box may not exactly be shaped like a box). That black 'void' stuff is bad for your map so make sure that you cant see any of it from your map. You wanna take this to Fuck Town? Oh gadzooks, yes!

unless DOD works differently then the other mods, (which i highly doubt), the only reason you should need to "box" your maps is because it is leaked and you are too lazy to try and fix them proporly. Esentially its like fixing something with duct tape. its not the right way to do something, but its easy and it works.
if you are new to hammer and you don't know what to do, just start reading tutorials. there is a lot of reading involved and a lot of figuring things out. but once you get the basics down, you can start building from there.

All maps are boxed in from the void. Next piece of advice - Never make a map without lights!!! You wanna take this to Fuck Town? Oh gadzooks, yes!

wait, i'm confused now. are you saying that you need to build your map then put another box around it or are you saying that you just need to make sure that your map has all 6 sides touching?
i'm hoping you mean the second of the two.
