Ok I have finally nailed down the ability to set map specific settings in mani.

For example I have set arena to run for 15 mins and now everytime the map loads it will reset itself to a limit of 15 mins. Everything else is still going to run at the normal server settings.

With this being said this post is to announce that I wll be changing all the dm maps that we currently use to timelimits of 15 mins. Do you guys think this is too long or too shot. I just know that after 30 mins of this dm stuff i am no longer concentrating on what i am doing and just going through the motions.

This will not and cannot change weapon settings.. I am still working on a way to have mani take certain weapons out of certain maps such as teh bow out of arena. I look at the dm maps as a way of developing some aiming and moving skills and this is just a little hard when people are killing you over and over again with the one kill bow. So dont panic the bow will remain untouched in the normal ctf maps..

I know I have talked to you guys about your ideas on how to save the ctf server. I am very interested in following up on the things that you showed me and the stuff we talked about.

However, as by the title of the forum these are the DM servers we are talking about here. These servers are already quite successful and I am not looking to do anything to radically change them. I am always on the lookout for minor ways to keep them fresh but overall I think they do quite well the way they are. Our players are basically CTF players with only secondary interest in DM. The ability to use the dm maps with reduced time limits will add some variety to spice things up a bit. This will give the players a chance to taste something different for a change but not force them to bang heads for a full 30 mins.

With some of the wide open dm maps like arena though the super xbow becomes an issue. It is just not all that enjoyable for a lot of people to get killed over and over again just cause someone can get the drop on em from above with a one hit kill weapon. I am simply looking for a way to keep the map intact and let people enjoy the map without affecting anyother map in the server or changing the bow which has done so much to make the server popular.

Thirdly.. I did chat a little bit with Nite and he pointed me in a direction of something that just might do what I am looking for.
