interesting article on the business strategy of Nintendo for the Wii and reasoning as to why, despite their percieved inferior technology, they could rise to become the dominant force of this generation of consoles. its long, but it makes for a very good read. Miyamoto wrote:The games industry is like a "big village". The centre of the village is the most active and healthy part of the games industry and by staying there, it means you can no longer see the outside world. There you'll be pampered and be surrounded by enthusiasts. But a few years ago, I heard in society that Nintendo was losing its place from the centre... It gave us the chance to slip away and understand the game market more. yeah, i'm a cranky 'oul fucker. deal with it.

I'm all up for excellent graphics, but I would rather play a graphically boring game with a lot of interaction and involvement than a graphically superior one with boring gameplay structure. Suprisingly, the game that many people seem to fidn the most fun was Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, which could probably be played on N64 graphics. I hated the Cube, but I'd would forgive Nintendo enough to at least give the Wii a chance. {pDs} Lead Salad: bike why did you change your name Jessica343: so I can get heals {pDs} Lead Salad: oh damn good idea {pDs} Lead Salad has changed their name to {pDs} Lead Salad (is a girl) Jessica343: hahah

The wii controller owns period. The abilty to hack and slash on the new zelda is amazing, maybe younger gamers wont have such of an obesity problem if they have a workout playing a great game.

Nintendo already planned to have some sort of a "work out" game on the wii spacifically made to work them abs! buns, and w/e they figure out to do with the wii-mote.
Im also personally looking forward to the new zelda game although I am abit dissapointed that they decided to change Links voice actor. Also cant wait to beat you all upside the head once SSB:B comes out =D ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

Yeah, I can't wait for the slash and hacking of Zelda. Also, Red Steel sounds amazingly awesome. The wiimote will act as a phone for when you receive missions... you put the speaker of the wiimote to your ear and your mission is whispered to you so your opponents playing on the same tv in the same room as you, or whatever, will never know what you're supposed to be doing. The Wii is going to be revolutionary. Maybe not in terms of graphics, but in every other area they've got PS3 and XBOX360 beat. silverwasp wrote:Be careful what you wish for...
