nucular football is a good map, but when the server fills up, there are just way too many people for that map to come up. there is only 1 way to the flag capture and half the time you die because you are running into your teammates. a lot of people leave when that map comes up when there are more then say 15 people playing. i'm not saying its not a fun map, i think its great. but i think it should be taken out of the mapcycle and made votable so that if there are enough people that want to play it, that it can be voted in.

I love nuke football, but yea it gets packed and turns to a spam fest of the hallways. Could this map be redone for a larger crowd?
Maybe adding an area that goes underneath that allows a secondary passage.....keep it the same but just make more room.

I am going to pull Nuke football back to vote when i get home tonight. I find myself agreeing with Illenta here and another pm i received on the subject. I will probably replace it with school in the cycle since I am told school can handle 30 people. A majority of our good maps are just getting smothered with the large numbers of people we have been getting at times.
A very large problem is that there are not that many good large scale ctf maps in dm. I can get a ton of dm maps but that stuff gets a bit old in a hurry with our rabid bunch of ctf players we have around here. I am still on the lookout for any good large ctf style maps I can find out there.
I am putting out a call to all of our mapping friends.. We NEED large scale ctf style maps that can handle 20+ people.
Another question would be is Murdy still active in Hl2? Its been along time since we have seen him drop in on us. Once Known as Grumpy... Oh hell lets face it... I have and will always be Grumpy

my next project will definetly be for a 30 player map. my last projects was a ctf based map and thus, it wasn't really meant for 30 people. hopefully in a month or two i will have something new for you.

This map is one of my favorite maps when the server is full. Getting 5-8 kills in a row in the small corridors is a great feeling.

Please don't take my nuke football away!!!This is one of my favorite maps, if not my #1 favorite. I love it when its full and you can't make it across the map without pushing and shoving and there are bolts flying everywhere and nades going off. It's like this totally insane fucked up battle full of non-stop carnage, when you finally manage to dodge and weave into the enemy base and cap the flag you feel like you really accomplished something. No other map gets my adrenaline flowing like nuclear football. I can understand being frustrated when its full, but it's part of the maps charm to be cramped into narrow hallways - it also helps force people to actually push into the enemy side - c.f. how people play some of the other football maps Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.
