The weird thing is that I was playing with no problems. I disconnected because I had a new refrigerator delivered to my house. When I returned like 10 minutes later there were still people on the server playing but I could not connect because of the error. Kind of weird. Well I got my first response from the hlds mailing list. Kyle was very helpful:
"This took me 20 seconds to find. RTFM..."
He then copy and pasted the support page posted earlier in this thread.
Let's review:
"...and the steam support page has client fixes... but everyone can connect
to other servers just not..."
Once again, I've read that. The steam status page was updated 14 minutes
prior to me viewing it. I checked the steampowered forums with a search but
couldn't find a solution due to it "page cannot be displayed."
It didn't appear the steam network was down. So, I continued on to
troubleshooting persistent steam userid ticket errors.
So, my players restarted steam. That didn't fix it. My players deleted the
various files. Guess what? That didn't fix it. Like I said in my last
message (which you clearly didn't need to read explaining your
less-than-helpful response with a rather condescending tone) my players can
connect to every other server except mine. Restarting my servers fixes the
issue temporarily.
Anyway, thanks for the help, kyle.
Anyone else have an idea as to why this is happening to my servers alone? Do
I need to provide more information?

10/24 - got this error again. i deleted the clientregistry.blob, restarted steam and the PC. son of a bitch! You wanna take this to Fuck Town?
