ok i got the map done for my friend and i got a scores thing in it and it should be ready to go. But i tired to complie it and my computer froze up on me, so can someone else try it, or look at it to see why it would not complie. what part were you at when it froze? my computer crashes all the time when i compile because i have other programs on my computer that decide they want to run and well you get the picture. most the time your computer crashes because of one time issues, i would try it a few times before waiting on other people to come around and try it for you. it would just probably be quicker. i would try it for you but i am finding out right now that my laptop doesn't want to compile maps, i get memory errors.

sounds like you need to reinstall steam again , a clean install. probably, but i'm working with my laptop here over the holiday. when i go home in a few weeks i can use my desktop that runs great.

well from what i can see, you have a lot of errors because you copied the entities from a map that uses turrets and they get activated after a score. you need to go into the score trigger and delete these because you don't have any turrets in your level.
also, i told you that you need 3 entities for the flags (you are missing 2 of them and most of your errors are because of that). you need a prop_dynamic_overide, a func_physbox, and a env_sprite. you are missing the func_physbox which is what makes the flag glow and the env_sprite that is inside the flag. copy those entities into both of your flags and most of your problems should be fixed.

Hey llenta if you want to post your map i can, i can try ti compile it for you. Also that is odd that it says there were turrest from that level and there were none, maybe the other map is messed up, Im starting to understand a little bit of the scoring system and how it works but i dont understand it completely yet, How someone came up with it in the first place ill never know. nd i have no idea how to add the other 2 things in for the flag could someone explain it for me how to put it in and what it does how it works ect. i don't need you to compile my maps for me. i looked into the settings in my laptop and it was using the cst to render the maps. i never did get it working proporly (obviously), but i put the settings back to the hammer compile tools and it works fine.
as far as your missing entities, the set-up your using is the same on 2_fort. just grab your entities from (the flags on) that map. as far as understanding all of it, well, just work one thing at a time. i think on 2-fort, there are about 20 outputs on the score trigger. my new map has almost 100. if i look at it i can get myself lost even though i made it. the trick is doing 1 thing at a time and trying not to get yourself lost. sometimes making a checklist helps if you need it. dont worry, the more you work with it the better you will understand it.

Well i will see what i can do for The Grove, But for my Map Age oF kings, ithink i will try to do my own and see if it wrks better that way ANd for both maps i want to one use 1 spot where the flag is to get the flag and score in the same place, i dont want to do 2 differnet places like on 2fort, or shipping.
