So, my friend's twenty-something kid got a Wii when it came out. He's been playing it ever since. She says she saw him over the weekend and he looked like his clothes were fitting loosely. She noticed he was a lot thinner than he was a month ago. She mentioned this to him and he attributed the weight loss to playing Wii. He uses the two controllers for his games and Wii came with some exercise program he plays to warm up before playing his games.
I don't get it, but I can understand if, instead of sitting on your couch with an Xbox controller, you're waiving your arms playing some boxing game, you're going to burn calories. Since most people will play video games way too much, I guess the result is not surprising.
I Googled this to see if others had reported the same observations and found this among many:

. You should be more like Cantrip. Twitchy: "I pulled a Cantrip . . ." GivePeaceAChance: "If the Tempest had nipples, I'd pinch that shit." Xylicon: "I'm about to deliver my [Richard] in your face for posting that stupid shit. " WDF?: "He keeps reaming me... night after night... I'm rather sore." GivePeaceAChance: "OMG MY NIPS ARE HARD" llenta: "cantrip, you fail!!!" Filliam H. Muffman: "i'm on top of dick"

Boxing is dope. Can't wait for fight night. But... I don't understand how the Wii causes weight loss. I mean, it's understandable if the person starved themselves playing too much games, but you barely need to flick your wrist to play the motion-sensitive games. Most weight loss comes from weight training, cardiovascular excersize can only do so much.

If your actually standing up, boxing, swinging almost like you would in real life, or swing just a little bit like real life, you can easily use a lot of energy. Before the Superbowl yesterday, we had a wii boxing tourny with 8 people, and by the end of it, most people were atleast sweating a little bit. AKA Shinobi Quote:Kick some giga-butt

The way my wii sits (amongst the mess of 6 other systems) I must stand up for the motions to be recognized so when i'm playing games like boxing tennis bowling and especially rayman I get one hell of a work out. I have lost more weight in the month or so that i have had the system than what I lost in a month doing 3 times a week half hour work outs at curves! I am eating "normal" agian too! Wii enables me to gorge on all the carbs I want!!! nottheballz: ask her if i will ever have sex again lol {pDs} Face: rosie nottheballz: na she stoped {pDs} Face: 2 timing bitch
