I recognize that the server is down currently. We just moved boxes to fix the lag issue. If you guys recall, getting the last back of servers online took weeks... weeks of problems to troubleshoot. It's not easy stuff and I am only one man.


However, I am getting pretty sick and tired of the overwhelming whining I am receiving from people via xfire/aim/pm/forum

"No on plays in the crypt!" "Waaaaaaah"

That's all I hear.

Well guess what? You fail. You are the ones who bitched and moaned about not having a server. I bring it back, and you complain about how hard it is to get games going. You complain about how no one plays. You complain and I grit my teeth.


Is it fun to sit alone in a server waiting for players? Nope. However, I did just that two days ago. I sat, called a couple pds members in. We played alone, boringly for about 15 minutes. Then, people started trickling in. We peaked at 19 players before it crashed. The crash issues are being investigated by me and the GU guys right now, but there's proof that sitting in the server works.

The other thing I'm hearing that's getting me furious is when people other than myself attempt the xfire spam, they get less than friendly responses. People are too busy looking at gorilla porn to help their clan out. That's sad.

If you aren't doing anything you should be doing your part to get the server kicking. You should be posting the IP in forums all over. Advertising in other servers (unless they have rules against that, in which case I urge you to obey. Our clan image is also important).

You need to recruit new members. You need to get open communication going with your clan mates and you need to make this happen. I cannot do this alone.

I don't want to hear whining or excuses, I want to see action and I want results. Without it, we're paying for an empty server, and that's dog shit.

Also, ctfers, I recognize that getting the Tomb running is great fun and blah blah, but let's not forget which game is still more popular. More crypt players = more recruits = more regulars for the crypt. I think the tomb is a great server (which is why we're increasing it's player count) but I need your help as much as the rest of the clan on this one.


So, you guys, I am begging you, do your part. Get this server rolling again. It isn't going to happen unless each and every one of you make it happen.

i have been doing my part.  i run around there waiting for people to join hoping that if they see a real person instead of bots that they will join. 

although i do my fair share of bitching on the forums because the settings aren't right.

often if there is no one on the server and you don't feel like sitting there alone if you hop on another server that is really full and play for a bit then announce "I'm gonna go play on THE CRYPT" people will follow you over. We just need to work at getting a few people on regularly and eventually we'll build our regular player base back up. Also, it would help if the crypt would show up in the server browser, but that may just be a problem with my steam client since no one else seems to complain about it. only way I can find the crypt is because i added the IP to my favorites list.

damn, whut is beating me by 20 minutes, lol.

sometimes crypt doesn't show up for me, but then i just have to refresh my list and it will after like the second or third time i do it.  i don't know why, but when i refresh, it never shows all the servers. 

the votemap list needs to be changed...as llenta said in game, theres like 4 killboxes to vote for..

I have been completely bogged down by homework and other, more personal issues at the moment, and every time I see someone ask me to come play, it kills me to say no. I want to see the server come back to #1 as much as anyone else, so if I can ever squeeze in 30 minutes to idle or whatnot, I'll do exactly that.
