To all of the HL2 DM players in our clan:

I invite you to play HL2CTF on the Tomb. You can download the latest public version, 1.7 here.

It still confounds me as to how it is possible for our clan to have such a large number of active players, but less than 10 percent of those play HL2CTF on a regular basis. For those of you who do not own HL2, it's a small investment, only abound $20 if you know where to look. Please, give CTF a try. How many excuses can you possibly have left?

Maps: Almost all of the maps available on the Crypt in HL2DM form have been ported or are in the process of being ported over to CTF. New weapons, playing styles and much much more are open to you if you simply decide to join us in CTF.

DM v CTF: Some of our members have complained they do not like the mod. Yes, getting used to a new mod is a challenge, but it is the willingness to try new things and the persistence through repeated deaths that furthers our clan's reputation.

In the current league season of CTF and the past ILDM HL2CTF league, we have been/are ranked among the lowest of all participating clans. Is it not demoralizing that the in the only mod in which our clan currently competes has the support of less than 10 of its members, 5 on a regular basis?

I know that moving to CTF may be difficult for old-school DM players. When CTF first became a relatively larger mod with the 1.7 release, I too was not overjoyed about the Tomb migrating to CTF. But with regular practice and eventually an invitation into this clan, I know I have improved greatly. A trade off is in order: Players who play on the Crypt regularly should join us in CTF. Most of us CTF players on the Tomb do occasionally journey into the Crypt as well, so please return our favor.

there are good and bad things about the mod.  of course some of those bad things will be fixed when 1.8 (eventually, ever) comes out.  the skill level of the players in the ctf mod is far greater then that of the dm mod.  if you are used to pwning up bitches in the dm mod, well, you are now the bitch.  that is until you start practicing.

i enjoy playing both mods and i have been giving my best effort to make the scrims and practices.  its a lot more fun getting beat up by really good players then having to deal with noobs getting in your way and blocking doors because they think its funny.

besides, there is a lot less spamming in hl2ctf because the rockets do far less damage and the combine balls actually kill the person who shoots the ball.

Well, in the DM CTF servers yeah, but there are 10x  more good players that play regular DM, but if you stay in the CTF servers you tend to not see them that much.

The mod is fun, but I've always been a DM guy, which is why I haven't been hanging out in the Tomb as much.  1.8 (or 2.0) CTF is going to kick ass, and I personally hope that it is far, far away from DM.  I'll try to drop in every once in a while, but I just find more personal enjoyment in regular DM.

I've played CTF once before and it wasn't that good but that's due to the fact that I play alot of CSS and was very new to CTF but not so new to HL2 DM. I can play both if you want but like I said in my second post, it's a little complicated and i'll be needing a certain persons (peoples) permission.
