I was in Mid game and all of a sudden I got disconnected.
Then when i tried to log back in i got an error vaildating steam id message.

you're too fast for steam to understand. exit steam, restart and rejoin the game

it happens... restart steam and try again, if that doesnt work the next step is to reinstalll steam..... but usually i've never had to do that, it goes away after a time yeah, i'm a cranky 'oul fucker. deal with it.

i got an update this morning from steam, and now i am having this problem. i wish steam gave you a choice whether you want to update or not. i would choose never, since i always seem to have problems after an update and have to wait for the next one to get it fixed. i'm sure i have mentioned how much i hate steam.

It seems I am out now too.. stopped and restarted steam.. all seemed well but after i moved about two steps in the game i got dumped out again Once Known as Grumpy... Oh hell lets face it... I have and will always be Grumpy

yeah, i had that a few times, then after restarting steam it wouldn't let me in at all. don't ask me why, but i changed my ip and it let me in, so i'm not going to ask questions. the steam id doesn't change, so i don't know why this worked.

I had the same problem until I deleted the "user registry blob file" - it's in your Steam directory. When I relaunched Steam after that it re-loaded the latest update and then everything worked again. Prior to doing that I couldn't stay connected longer than about 20 seconds before Steam kicked me, restarting Steam, rebooting the computer, waiting 10 minutes - none of it worked. ugh, ever since the update, whenever i play DOD i glitch all the time. so i just stopped playing DOD. i can barely move and its like i'm lagging at 900ping, but i'm at 40. ugh. whatever.
