now i know there have been topics like this before and i never payed much attention....maybe i should have!  I'm looking in the future to possibly get a laptop.  a gaming laptop.  now i have no specs in mind i just know that i would like to play hl fear few other games.  now idk how well this will work but i would like to maybe lay out in the sun and game at the same time so idk if i need a special monitor that can handle direct sunlight  or even if it's not recomended.  now i'm not looking to spend an arm and a leg i'm not even sure what laptops run.  trying to stay near a grand if possible but i'm open for any suggestion.  let me know

The cheapest XPS you could get is $2600, which is quite steep.

This place is selling this toshiba laptop, with the same processor, video card, and ram. Plus is also come with a dvd burner like the dell and comes with a much larger hard drive than the dell, and the toshiba is considerably thinner than the dell so you don't have to lug around a giant brick everywhere.

Though toshiba doesn't have the quality customer service and return policy (well, sort of), a lot of my friends have toshiba laptops and none of them have had problems with theirs.

My Father has one that I will be borrowing once again, as I have to send my Desktop back to Gateway to replace my Motherboard (leaky caps). Its a pretty decent little laptop, however I hook up most of my external stuff to it and run it like a desktop. It’s not a gaming system, but I'm sure you can get them better configured for gaming.

you never stated what kind of screen you are getting, or size for that matter.  judging by the picture, it looks like a 15.4 widescreen, but its hard to tell.  there are 3 different screen to my knowledge and i hope you opted for the s or u version.  if you get the standard, in my opinion, you will be wasting that nice graphics card you have because your screen won't be able to display good resolutions.
