OK a couple of days ago i backed into my brothers van and i have full covage on my car, but im on under my g/fs dad insurance and it was like 190 for me to be on, now all of her family are telling me that i should pay the $4500+ out of my pocket, insted of useing the car insuarnce. Is that not what the whole point of having car insurance, is if something happens they will pay to get it fixed? Right or im i in the wrong and should pay out of pocket for everything, i think i shouldbe able to use the car insuaence, what does everyone think, im i the carzy one or are they crazy. plz help. 4500? did you back into it at 90? lol
If your name is on the policy then you are covered , period. g/f family may be upset because the overall premium may go up after the claim. But that would be your part to pay.

yea. they just don't want to pay higher insurance cuz they have an at risk driver on their policy. It had to have been somewhat their decision to have you on their policy so they should man up and take responsibility for their decisions. they knew the risk, and when shit happens, they need to follow thru. and 4500+ is fucking rediculous to pay out of pocket. that is what insurance is for... You may suggest paying whatever difference it is in the policy but its prolly not going to be THAT much which is so cheap on their part. how the shit do you get on your baby momma's daddy's insurance policy anyways? he must really like you. which is confusing cuz he wants you to pay out of pocket. another question, are you planning on being with your girlfriend for the long haul? cuz you can screw the parents now if you dont plan on marrying but its not so easy when theyre like a part of your life as grandparents and shit undermining your authority by slipping them kids some twix bars before dinner. its a fucked up world my friend. a fucked up world. ALSO: aren't you legally obligated to report to your insurance company any damage to your car over 500?

No i was not doing 90, i backed up and hit his rear panel and slideing door and dented it inreally bad, but on vans and newer cars its pretty easy to do, you could kick in the door panels. Im on my g/f dads insurance because other wise i could not pay for full coverage on my car, thur him its only (was) only 190. I was just wanting to know if i was crazy ofr wanting to use the insuance or if they were, and as i had thought its them, But on a side note latley i have notcie how really carzy they are. But any ways for my car it was about 1200 for my car and 150 just for my talelight. And for my bothers van they have to take off the outer part of the slideing door and fix it. I will take some picks and post it, to show what i did. And my brother van was about like 2700 plus, but i got some estimates on both my car and his van. I have been driving for a long time this is my first anyhting, i have never got a ticket or hit anyone before or had anyone hit me either for that matter. When i take my car in ill have to take my amp and subs out, to make sure they dont just grow legs and walk off. I really dont know why they want me to pay out of pocket but im not going to, i have already filed the claim and no wait on getting the check, then take it in and get it fix.

I used the insureance im just waiting for everything to go thur, ill have to call after the fourth. It seems to me like they put you on there to make you feel welcome and to be nice. But now there is the risk that there rates will go up, there true selfishness will show. Pay for it if this girl is really special. If not, take the risk of her family ostracizing you from the group.
