He must have dropped in, left, and now returned because he wasn't there this weekend.
I'm back in (v), mostly because of work, partly because of him. I was messaging with Macca and apparently there are 2 UPON players that are after Mr. Machina. I suspect that 5:380 is his hiding place. I mentioned leaving 600 LF plus some other ships on one of my planets in hopes that Deus will leave me with a moon. I might even be able to pull a ninja, but my playing hasn't been that good. A moon would be nice, though.

Ok.. I looked at this system directly now.. and you are right it is a new planet. He was a couple of systems away before.. down in the 14 spot or so.. I do think he seems to be aftr you directly now  Once Known as Grumpy... Oh hell lets face it... I have and will always be Grumpy

Playing hard to get!!! i like it OG !!
He has quite a few ships as i managed to catch his fleet on the other planet he had near us a while back!! He had 3500 lf in that fleet plus all the heavy ships. His whole fleet is in this area and he has no moon,(YET) but the UPON guys have moved in and look like they are determined to get him.
its funny really! he messaged me saying i tipped them of ( the UPON guys), only i didnt !
He then realised that it was a revenge hit from a previous encounter and apologised to me and since then has not even probed me !!
But! i will keep a close look on him!

If you look at the first post in this thread you can see his fleet from June 24th.
Maybe I should contact UPON and ask if I can temporarily wear the tag for an ACS hit. Or I could get back to D42 and accept their invitation. He wouldn't attack a member of his own alliance. Hmmmmmmmmmm...

OK - so I checked the Galaxy View and Deus had no stars by his name. I came out of vacation mode and immediately started disbursing my ships from 5:380:8. As soon as I had sent out 4 fleets I went back to the Overview screen and what did I see? Deus was coming at me from 5:380:9 with a ton of ships. He was 34 minutes away. It turns out that he scanned me 4 seconds before my main fleet was deployed. Lucky timing? Anyway, I probed him, he probed me back, he recalled when he saw nothing left. Here's what he was sending at me:
5870 LF
200 HF
300 CR
750 BS
203 BC
When I probed him on 5:380:9 this is what was there:
692 SC
51 LC
49 Bombers
15 Destroyers
378,807 Metal - 473,541 Crystal - 342,920 Deuterium
I sent a message to the preacher (UPON) in 5:392 letting him know where to find Mr. Machina. He was quite happy. I also sent a message to the GO (darkangel) asking why there isn't a * on his planet when I know that there is activity. Even after I probed him there was no *.

I saw it - thanks. I voted to go back to the old way.
BTW - Deus is probing every 30 minutes or so. LOL - he won't find anything. I don't plan on letting my fleet sit for more than the few minutes it might to adjust my fleetsave.

I looked but couldn't find where Deus got hammered. Can you post a link?
There is a new problem in the neighborhood, though. His name is Monk (Rank 9) and he's in 5:392 with Deus. Hopefully that's who he's after. He's scanned me a few times, but not every 30 minutes like Deus was doing for a while there.
