thats pretty much the thing everybody looking for a comp should know, never buy manufactured, go custom

i have seen cases where it was actually cheaper to get a system built  through Dell than it was to buy the separate coponents at one of the cheaper european online parts vendors (at the exact same specs), for whatever reason at the time. it's more important to just keep up what's on offer everywhere, never say never.
yeah, i'm a cranky 'oul fucker. deal with it.

nah, i dont mean that, im assuming the situation is similar over there to here, that companies like Dell, who have those outlet stores and weekly deals stuff, just keep your eye on them, you can sometimes get an absolute bargain! i'm just making the general point that you shouldn't restrict your hunting to a self build/parts alone, you should exahust all avenues you have when it comes to buying comps, and compare it to whatever the manufactures have on offer.

i think it was around $200 that saving was in buying that comp through dell as apposed in parts. can't remember where the thread was though.

Dont buy dell....Custom build....its the only way!!!

I say this after i have attempted to fix a few dell's for my friends. Dells are great for the non computer savvy user. If you want to be able to get into the brain of your computer i say build your own.

Check out my thread here and you can see i got some great deals on top-notch parts >>>> http://www.wdfnews.com/forums.aspx?g=posts&t=5776

Hope this helps

You do realise that Reaper asked this question on August 10, 2006 and his last visit was on October 20, 2006?
