Leaving now for San Diego. Give you my time when it's over. Sick as a dog at the moment and my foot has plantar fasciitis. You should be more like Cantrip. Twitchy: "I pulled a Cantrip . . ." GivePeaceAChance: "If the Tempest had nipples, I'd pinch that shit." Xylicon: "I'm about to deliver my [Richard] in your face for posting that stupid shit. " WDF?: "He keeps reaming me... night after night... I'm rather sore." GivePeaceAChance: "OMG MY NIPS ARE HARD" llenta: "cantrip, you fail!!!" Filliam H. Muffman: "i'm on top of dick"

Okay, that was hell. The foot problem required me to stop and stretch it often. On top of that, I had the flu. Each time I coughed, I wouldn't finish the cough and would have to breath in which triggered another unfinshed cough . . . It looked like I was having a heart attack. Onlookers would stop running to ask me if I was okay.
Water stations were placed at 1.5 to 2.5 miles apart - way too few of them. Thank God the marine layer came in overnight. Love that June Gloom. It started to clear for about ten minutes, then it changed its mind and came back. Hot as hell though. When I finished there was a water sprinkler tied to a pole. I was under that for like three minutes until someone told me to keep moving. So I did, to the next sprinkler for another few minutes. Then they gave us towels which were dunked in ice water. I asked for two more. Screw hot weather.
So here are my times at various distances:
10K - 1:11:58
Half-Marathon - 2:44:05
20 Miles - 4:44:29
Finish - 5:57:38, (13:39 mile average pace)
This marathon time was 39 seconds faster than the L.A. Marathon in March.
Depending on your self-reported estimated finishing time, they assign you to a corral. I was in #9. My friend, who was going to walk it, was in #19. -Slower runners/walkers get placed farther back from the starting line so there's no congestion. Anyway, she did NOT run a step. She walked it. She finished with a time that was ten minutes, seven seconds slower than mine. And she walked the entire way! You should be more like Cantrip. Twitchy: "I pulled a Cantrip . . ." I wish I could look up and drink rain during runs in Seattle- but too many chemicals. What really sucks is that our cross country team often goes to this one trail by my house, dirt, so I end up getting a bit of mud on my shoes and the back of my shirt. My fast thinks driving.. is for the weak!
