ok so my old radeon 9800 pro (128MB) card crapped out and luckily dell had it under warrranty so they shipped me a replacement. This replacement was not the original but is the NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS (256MB). Now my computer has 512 MB Ram, HD 120GB, and an INtel pentium 4 CPU 3.0 GHZ....do i need to upgrade any of these? My TF2 is kinda running a little crappy Code:<a href="http://www.sloganizer.net/en/" target="_blank" title="Sloganizer - the slogan generator"><img src="http://www.sloganizer.net/en/image,Sloganizer,white,black.png" border="0" alt="generated by sloganizer.net" title="This slogan was generated by sloganizer.net"/></a>

Nope, you should be just fine with the 7600 they shipped, in fact, you're probably going to see a nice boost in performance with the 7600 over the 9800 pro card you had.

The 512MB that you have is probably 256x2. You can't just add to that. Get rid of it alltogether and buy 2x1gig identical RAM and you'll kick ass. Memmory prices have dropped a great deal lately so it should only set you back about eighty to a hundred bux to upgrade the RAM. {pDs}BelligerentPimp wrote: No using the word "fucktard" unless you are refering to TonyRWC or Youngripark.j2. If its RDRAM you may be a bit screwed. If its DDR then you can get 2gb for about $100, if you are on a tighter budget don't be afraid to just get 1gig, but if you do get a single stick so you can upgrade easier later (instead of 2x512). If you are really on a tight budget and dont expect to upgrade the RAM later then go for the 2x512, it's usually cheaper than a single stick. Performance-wise there isn't a huge leap from 1gb to 2gb except in specific circumstances, like when you have a lot of shit running and wind up using the pagefile (i.e. your hard drive gets used as "RAM" when not everything can fit into RAM), for gaming this translates into longer level load times and doesn't have any major effect on actual in-game performance since most games are designed for the masses and the masses rarely have over 1gig. here you gothe g.skill or corsair @ $100 are both good choices. anything with 30+ reviews that still has a 5 egg rating is worth considering though. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.

yeah, DDR RAM is all the same form factor. If your system takes DDR it should take anything that follows the DDR spec. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.
