Its come to my amusement that the internet in my house has a mind of its own or satan is running his sick shit off my internet. Anyway, I got my PC which is the main one, has its own modem that connects to the internet. Next theres 2 others in my house that have laptops and require internet as well. The magical day my mom got her laptop was the day this world went to hell in a handbasket. Before my mom had her laptop her BF who also resides within these walls has a laptop that he keeps blaiming me for all the failed internets he tries to get. He's not a big computer guy and knows barely the basics. He basically keeps screaming at me cause his laptop was told to him by a "big PC professional" that his laptop was "100%" wireless. He basically thinks he can be in a deserted island with his laptop with internet abilities. He got this wireless router that to my no suprise the damn thing worked for about a week untill his connection died. Not me or this "PC professional" could figure out why this wireless shit wasn't working, it took well over 4 hours alone just to get it working when we first installed that damn thing on my PC.
Anyway, day came when my mom got her laptop and by some mircle suprise her laptop was able to get internet access. Take note by this time I got a brand new PC which isn't the same one I had connected the wireless router to, and that Ive never tried to install the wireless router to my new PC. So my mom is now connecting just fine to the internet. Closely following by my moms BF's laptop he now is finally able to connect to the internet. So now there are 3 computers in my house that are able to connect to the internet. The laptops connect to the internet wireless. Now just 3 months ago my moms laptop isn't able to connect to the internet anymore and I dont know why. (this wireless shit pisses me off royally) and guess what? Same time my moms laptop doesn't work neither does my moms BF's laptop. Thankfully he wasn't even in the country so I know I had at least a few more days of quiteness before I get yelled at for something I DID NOT DO. Again I get blamed for some crazy shit that I DID NOT DO when he did get back. He quit his job just awhile back to follow another job that they were offering him more moolah. So this process gains him yet again a brand new laptop to which I will let you guess, does not have internet abilities. Now this 2nd and even "bigger PC professional" tells him that the laptop he got is also "100%" wireless.
I don't know what these fucking ppl got against me cause the second my moms BF gets home and tries his laptop only to find out he doesn't get internet. I get yelled at. He thinks that the internet will magically work on his laptop every odd day so he keeps trying to connect. Now to begin with I don't even know how it was possible for my moms laptop to connect to the internet since I had absolutely no wireless routers running. I already could figure out that his laptop was using my moms internet signal thus why he was able to get internet with his first laptop. I also can't figure out why my moms laptop was suddenly unable to have the internet. Her internet worked flawlessly for about half a year or so. So for tomorrow I now travel to the bowels of hell, I will be destined to install the wireless router yet again this time on my moms BF's personal laptop which to the irony of this story he never uses, and just to add insult to injury he bought a 2nd internet connection for this house for him to use which he never does just cause it contains wires. So in total there are now 2 modems running on seperate connections with only 2 computers able to connect to the internet. My PC and my moms BF's personal laptop. To which degree he still gets pissed at me cause his work laptop can't connect to the internet. I keep telling him to move his personal laptop somewhere else and get his work laptop connected through the internet directly using the damn modem and internet service he payed for. He's so damn stubborn he refuses to do so just cause someone told him that this laptop is also "100%" wireless.
The thing I try to get drilled through miles of his thick skull is that no magical laptop in the land of even Krypton is wireless without a wireless router or wireless access point, for he only to bring up my mom's laptop and why her laptop was magically able to connect to the internet. Which till this day still haunts for me for any un-explained reason as to why it actually worked. I now say farewell my fellow readers, cause honestly I donno if I will survive the horror of installing the wireless router a 2nd time when I never even got it to work the 1st time.

they were probably connecting to a neighbours'. did you have the wireless encrypted? did they have the pass etc.? try with a friend's laptop who actually knows how to connect to a wireless network. yeah, i'm a cranky 'oul fucker. deal with it.

the neighbours wireless access points are encrypted, and everyone I know have PC's and not really got laptops. So I don't really think anyones gonna bring a wireless PC over. ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

your mom and her boyfriend sound like dumbfucks. you should WEP the WAP and blame THE HACKERS. honestly, the reason their wireless stops working is probably because they are too stupid to use a computer and broke it themselves. or your WAP sucks and needs to be power cycled on occasion, that's not uncommon with cheapo crap ones. 1 go to the routers site and read up on it
2 UP DATE THE ROUTER
3 encryption UES IT
4 make sure they are hitting your router and only your not the 1 across the street

ya updating the routers firmware is pretty important. lot of routers especially linksys will fuck up after awhile unles u do update it.
