I need help picking out a new psu. I was looking for something in the 600-700 watt rangewith 2-3 rails along with it. i plan to run a quad core on it with 2 gigs of ram, i have an 8600gt, but plan to up to a 8800 later also. So if it falls in this range post it here, and i dont want to spend $300 it either. I want to spend $120-$150 range as i have just bought 2 gig ram and a sound blaster audify 4.

Here is the new 600W Ultra X-3 X-Connect PSU, it goes for $109 and will more than handle a quad core cpu and dual 8800GT's if it needed to.

http://www.journeysystems.com/?powercalc Has a good Wattage need Calculator but in my opinion 700 watt woulkd be a little much but safe. the lowest i would go for would be 500 but thats pushing it.

If your going SLI you are going to want more than 600w... especially with 4cores...
I read ALL your private messages.

Sirus: Wait, you made the recovering alcoholic bring beer?
WDF: This shouldn't surprise you, this is me we're talking about... It'll be a test.

Seeing as how current Quad Cores only draw 105 Watts of power on full load, and the max a video card can draw with a single 6-pin PCI-e power plug is a little above 150 Watts and the 8 pin in the 200 Watt range, you can definitely get by with a quality 400-500W.

Antec Earthwatts 430W or 500W are pretty good as they are built by Seasonic
Antec Trio 550W or something like that are made by Fortron and are also very good quality.
Anything from the 80 plus website should be fine also.
