so since I can't fucking invite people into tempest3 half the time, and it's been unfull more than usual: COME JOIN ME FOR A NIGHT OF TEMPEST3 DEBAUCHERY.
I'll be on as much of the night as I can, I'm not leaving tempest3, even if I have to play with myself for an hour straight. Some come get some bitches.

I'm sad I still haven't played school. It will be awhile too unfortunately since I can't play for the next few days. While I'm gone, keep on eye on tempest3 - seems like it's been following a similar pattern of emptying out over night and then not filling back up until we put in the effort to draw people in.

Could it be the map rotation. Seem one, two and now four are much more active than three. I've also noticed that the server fills up when a popular map is on, then the map changes to a custom map and the server starts getting empty. Should we maybe narrow it down to more popular maps and leave some of the less popular ones there for vote map only?

Donno just an observation.

I think the key will be to figure out which maps are popular and/or don't stalemate often and then alternate them so that you are always no more than one map change away from one of them. As far as removing goes, unless a custom map is the total suck I think it should be official maps that come off tempest3 first (unless they are really popular or at least really fun). One of the issues with the drop off is that a lot of people don't have the maps yet so they have to DL them. As we build up regulars they will have more of the custom maps so the transition won't be as rough (e.g. you won't have to play 2 vs 2 while 26 people DL the map for 5 minutes).

Cheney, did I add you to the list of admins in the steam group?  If you are, are the event things just not working for you, or are you talking about another type of invite?

I don't think you did, or if you did I never heard about it and haven't noticed anything different. The thing I am talking about is when you are in-game and you load the Steam friends thing - in each friends menu there is an option to invite them to join you (I think it's right below the option to message them). When on Tempest 3 that option is missing, yet it's there on other servers. I know it used to be there on tempest3 because I use it all the time to fill the server, I think one of the recent patches broke something (WDFs theory is it has to do with the servers port). I keep meaning to submit a bug report to Valve but I am lazy and still haven't heard of anyone else has this problem so maybe it isnt really a bug.

my admin is now working on Tempest 3 and i was on there for a good portion of the night.  it filled up around 7-8 pm pacific and was full almost the rest of the night.  there were some pretty good maps on there.  i was dissapointed that i didn't get to see school either because i'm curious to see how well it runs as a TF2 map.  but i did look at the map list in the admin menu and i didn't see it or complex in the list, so i'm not sure if it was ever added to the server (might be why we haven't seen it).

i do have a suggestion though.  can we cycle the maps a bit faster.  it seems that most of them end in stale mates over and over again and after about 25-30 minutes of that people start typing "nextmap" and "timeleft" (even though these commands are broken) because they are ready to move on.  can we lower the time limit for each map to get a faster cycle between maps.

lets get this party started bitches. tempest3 is EMPTY. I'm getting on there and then I am going to start harassing you all via Steam chat until you get on there, then we are going to play powerplant, school, and any other new map.

Servers crashed awhile ago. When they came back, not all the people followed. About an hour ago.
