Every time I use my mic in-game, it sounds scratchy. When I go to the voice option panel and test the mic, I get a feedback loop. Tried the "voice loopback_1" command to see what it sounds like and indeed, it's a feedback loop. Have tried to use the voice tweak.exe download but it gives me an error "Couldn't find mic volume." Tried the "+voice_dsound 0" in the launch properties. I have an ASUS mobo with Realtek sound. Is this happening to anyone else? And would even entertain suggestions of replacement sound cards just to not spend another day dealing with this. Playback sound okay - can game fine, just can't use voice. Others report that they hear static or that my volume is turned way down. Same problem when using Steam Chat. However, when I use the Windows recorder program, the playback is fine - it records okay. Are you sure you don't have a soundcard? cause I got the same mobo, with built in realtek but I use Creative SB Audigy 2 for my speakers and mic. Another thing might be causing the loop is your mic is too close to your speakers so you gotta seperate them more. Also check your sound settings and make sure you turn all that those extra sound settings off. ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

Ja. I put the thing together and didn't add a soundcard. Buzz had a problem with his board and added a card to bypass. This may be the easiest option. If you're using a SB card that works, that's what I may do and be done with it. CL SB 2 I could not find at Newegg. However they have these CL SB cards: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102002Is it one of these? And it's not the speakers as I use a headset. And there are, were, two sets of settings. Those in the Windows volume control and a Realtek set which claimed to pull from the Windows volume control pane. I unistalled the driver for the Realtek device just now and am downloading a driver directly from Realtek. I'll know if it was the drivers within the hour. You should be more like Cantrip. Thats the only reason why I don't use realtek cause its a pain in the ass with the drivers and half the shit don't work right so I had a Sound Blaster sound card installed to ease my pain. ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

LOL. Pasted the wrong link. There's a 5.1 for a few bucks cheaper. Don't really care which as long as it works - if it works for you, it'll work for me. You should be more like Cantrip.
