I have been putting this off for far too long so as the new year rolls around I'm going to finally get the system I've been waiting on.  I'm going to put together a fairly cheap but extremely powerful machine together and am going to do it for under $600.  I'll let you all in on the secret as I discover the equipment I'm going to get.  So far I know that I'm getting the Q6600 from newegg and getting the DDR2 1000 from G-Skill (also at newegg), but am still trying to figure out as to which board I'm going to use to finish my dooms day machine. 

Inquiries, thoughts, comments, or just ramblings about computer parts, put them in here so everyone can share a portion of this  hodgepodge of tech information.
