I'm about to buy a DS with a gift card. I'll probably get the new zelda game and brain age^2. What else should I consider buying?

Just go to gamerankings.com, click on "the rankings", then under platforms select DS, then under number of results change it to around 50 or so (less if you want to) and that list should serve as a good one to go by on which games to buy.  Hell if you are unsure on some titles just click on them and read all their reviews for more info.

Trauma Center: Under the Knife is a great ds game

Metroid Prime: Hunters was fun...

I'm also a bit of a Mario Kart fanatic, so i have to recomend that

uuuummm lets see....

Starfox Command was alright, although it still feels inferior to Starfox 64

I've heard Elite Beat Agents is fun as hell, but i've yet to get around to it. Also, the Phoenix Wright trilogy is hilarious.

and yeah enjoy Phantom Hourglass, its a good zelda game, especially if you enjoyed Wind Waker.
