When I was a younger lad  I was in a band that was signed under the sony music label called epic.  After our lead singer found the wonder drug cocaine we fell apart.  With this experiece my creativty left as well.  I really stopped writing and making music.

Back when we were together we had a full setup of pro-tools.  It was not ours.  I never really touched it except to lay down different tracks and watch the producers tweak and move shit.

Now, the creative juices are ready to go.  I am asking what  I would need to hook my setup into my computer.  I need to be able to laydown several guitar tracks and vocals all into the same song.

Most of the music  I wrote and co-wrote had several guitar parts in it.  Think our lady peace....  I'm looking for links to hardware and software.

If anyone knows anything about this please chime in.

There is one for about $100 (thats about the starting price) but the name escapes me at the moment. I'll post later when I find it.

For something basic, yet semi-broadcast or possibly broadcast quality you can look at the Inspire 1394 as an input device.  You need a Firewire port on your comp.  Firewire is faster than USB.  Whatever you get you want Firewire interface.

It comes with some software, but you can use any of the commercial stuff with it.

Your former bandmates will have a better understanding of what stuff is out there now.  That's really sad about your band breaking up.  The Pet Shop Boys had that Relax song I liked.  I didn't know you wrote it.  More like that would get you back on top.  Pet Shop Boys 2 perhaps?

You should be more like Cantrip.

Xylicon: "I'm about to deliver my [Richard] in your face for posting that stupid shit. "
WDF?: "He keeps reaming me... night after night... I'm rather sore."
GivePeaceAChance: "OMG MY NIPS ARE HARD"
llenta: "cantrip, you fail!!!"

It is official.  Production has gone into full force.  I am writing a shit ton and recording, shit quality, guitar licks and riffs.   I'm still doing research to buy all the tools that  I need.

I have teamed up with my old band mate to lay tracks down.  Here is the only song I could find on youtube. Everything else has been destroyed for the most part.. lol

He is also the lead singer of a detroit based band called the paper street saints.  I have nothing to do with this band.

listen to the song wrestling the angel or the punishment.  This is where some of my old style came from that mr. goff took with him ;)
