I live with Delta62, and as such, we share the same connection. This problem goes off and on, but here goes.

He'll hop on to TF2 and join a server. I'll then try to join that same server, and then the problem hits. "Connection error." The same goes if I'm on a server and then he tries to join. Any suggestions to guide our search for answers and a potential fix?

We both have static IP addresses on a Linksys wrt54g router, both on wired connections.

Also maybe a port forwarding issue.  Make sure the ports required are open for his specific IP or both of yours

Yeah, we've got port forewarding set up correctly, but I'll take a look at the Linksys firmware... That makes a lot of sense.

Thanks guys

Trigot and i have this same problem, it is not constant, it happens about 40% of the time we both try to get into the same game, we both end up disconnected. We then have to restart the router, shut down steam and restart it and its fixed. This though its easy and fast to fix is very annoying when you are in the middle of a game.

That's what we get for selecting the $32 router, I guess.

Thanks for the tips, guys.

That's what we get or getting a router that's *on sale* at *Radio Shack.* :( Thanks, Stefi.
