So I did my own followup. I went to HP technical support...and encountered a fellow named Neisler B. Neisler B: Welcome to HP Total Care for desktops. My name is Neisler B. How may I assist you today?Neisler B: Hello, how are you doing today?Me: Hello, recently the HP keyboard that came with my computer melted... from the keys "w" to "y" and up to the "F1" keysMe: I'm good, how are you?Me: I thought I heard from somewhere that the keyboard may be under a warrenty? or that it can be replaced?Neisler B: I'm good, thank you.Neisler B: Ok.Neisler B: Not to worry, let me check on this.Me: Ok, thank youNeisler B: May I know the model number and the serial number of your computer?Me: I forget the key combination to bring that menu up, do you have it?Neisler B: You can check on the side or the back panel of the computer case. The information will be mentioned on a sticker. You can also press Ctrl + Alt + S (simultaneously) on the keyboard to get the information regarding your computer.Me: Model #- ***** Serial- **********Neisler B: Thank you for the information.Me: This is a picture of the keyboardMe: http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/7512/dcfc0212li9.jpgNeisler B: I'm have to say that your warranty has expired on 27 Oct 2006 .Me: Oh ok, so the only way I can get a new one is to buy another?Neisler B: Yes.Me: Oh ok, I thought I heard from some people that HP considered these types of accidents with their customers, but I guess I heard them wrongNeisler B: Not exactly, HP does consider these accidents under Accidental damage policy for customers under a specific type of warranty.Neisler B: As the warranty on your computer is expired, I'm sorry to say, we cannot do anything.Me: Ok, sorry about the confusion. Thank you for your time in this matterNeisler B: However, you can prevent further damages, by subscribing to our accidental damage policy.Neisler B: Thank you, you're welcome
So yeah. Basically I just got served by a guy named Neisler. But just how HP always is, I can subscribe to their accidental damage policy...yay for shelling out more money!

you should subscribe to their policy, then say it just melted and have it fixed. unless he comes back to own you again, you will get another keyboard. or you could just go out and buy yourself another keyboard to replace the $10 special that came with your computer.

You should be talking to the lamp company. If you support John McCain and/or George W. Bush, please click here.“I would like to say to Milton and Anna: Regarding the Great Depression. You're right, we did it. We're very sorry. But thanks to you, we won't do it again.” - Ben Bernanke

Well, I could subscribe to their policy, but as of now, I dont think its really necessary. Im sure they charge an arm and a leg for it. The keyboard actually isnt cheap... I believe its at least $50..maybe even more becuase of all the proprietary (sp?) logos and themes that goes with an HP. I could be talking to the lamp company, but right now im bogged down with too many other things. I might sometime.

Just incase you decide to keep your half melted screwd up keyboard, you can take out their Accidental Damage Policy, just in case it melts even more. And how is subscribing to their Accidental damge policy going to PREVENT further damages too? Quote:Posting related image due to my inability to formulate an intelligent response.
