we are talking about 96,271 songs in 11,958 folders, would take quite some time to go through it manually MakeSureItsCharcoalGrilled wrote: yes. please go fuck yoruself and die.

First Step: Move all MP3s into one directory. =P That's what I did when I tried cleaning up my collection. But then my collection is pretty small. Not sure Windows would even like that many files in one directory. Still.. there's a gazillion free management programs out there that should at least let you see them all at the same time and sort by name or whatever.

Or just move all MP3 files into 1 directory and search that directory for all MP3 files, mainly for organizational purposes so you can keep songs and what not from the album they came in. The problem with some MP3's is that some are coded with tags that sometimes have helpfull info on the song and some that are just filled with BS info. Only way I know since I've never herd of such a program that deletes duplicates thus forcing you to have to do it manually. Download winamp and generate a playlist, you will see all the songs you got in a simple list so you can see which duplicates you could have. ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

Download winamp and generate a playlist, you will see all the songs you got in a simple list so you can see which duplicates you could have. there's quite a few programs specifically designed for deleting duplicates. they all tend to work off tags and filenames though, rather than say comparing wave patterns or something a lot more complicated. just google to see. i've no idea what are good ones though because i've always kept my music folder organised (one folder per album as a rule, and i never add single songs to it) yeah, i'm a cranky 'oul fucker. deal with it.
