I'm not sure where to post this, but here seems like the right place... In the beginning of last year, I decided to switch from Sprint to another cell carrier. My wife and I went back and forth about Verizon or ATT. I won out with ATT because of the rollover minutes.
The service from day 1 sucked more than a Dyson straight out of the box. I couldn't get any signal in my house. I called and they sent me a new battery. Obviously that didn't fix the problem, but now my 30 trial was over and I thought I was stuck.
Well, this week we had enough. We went to Verizon, got new phones and they work great. I called ATT to cancel told them it wasn't really their fault and that my community won't let anyone put up more cell towers, so I knew I was going to pay the early termination, but I'd rather do that than not to have service. Then he says, "We'll lets see what we can do."
At that point, I said don't bother. I already have Verizon so I just want to cancel the service.
Then he said something that made my jaw drop!
He says, "You don't want me to check with my manager to see if we can waive the early termination fee?"
That's right...he said that...and his manager agreed to waive the fee.
I wanted to kiss him as we have to dish out another $1000 for a new fridge that crapped out on us.
I told him that IF they ever do get a tower up and the service improves, by him waiving the fee, I would come back.
So, I guess I'm just in shock and would like to give credit where credit is due.
Do not eat the contents of this post.

that's crazy shit man. Sprint would never do that. Or if they did they wouldn't actually waive the fee, instead they would bill you for it twice and then not actually turn the service on and then bill you the termination fee a third time when you called back to cancel it for real. That's weird, I've heard so many horror stories of AT&T customer service. Perhaps they are trying to retain a good image. {pDs} Lead Salad: bike why did you change your name Jessica343: so I can get heals {pDs} Lead Salad: oh damn good idea {pDs} Lead Salad has changed their name to {pDs} Lead Salad (is a girl) Jessica343: hahah

Ive got AT&T and I love them. The phone selection is great, the only comparable company is Verizon but I can't stand the shit they do to their phones. My wish is that more companies would be able to enter into the competition, driving down the prices on this shit. So goddamn ridiculous. Also, being locked into carrier specified handsets FTL. I wish the landline judgment (that allowed people at home to use any phone they bought... not just company-rented ones... now you know...) would be applied to cell phones. Ugh. silverwasp wrote:Be careful what you wish for... I have 10 younger siblings and I am only 20....
